The NVQ - Installation Electrician
The City & Guilds NVQ level 3 award itself is referred to as:
C&G 2356-31 Electrotechnical Installation (Buildings and Structures)
This consists of 8 units, all of which must be completed
to achieve the full award.
Also within the units there are certain criteria (range statements)which must be met to show that you have a broad 'practicing' knowledge across a range of work, practices and environments.
THE 8 UNITS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
Unit 301: Ensure safe site working
Unit 302: Diagnose and correct faults in Electrotechnical
________systems and equipment.
Unit 303: Provide technical and functional information to
________relevent people about Electrotechnical systems
________and equipment.
Unit 304: Maintain a healthy and safe working environment.
Unit 305: Prepare to install wiring systems, wiring enclosures
________and equipment.
Unit 306: Install wiring systems, wiring enclosures and
________equipment using safe and approved methods.
Unit 307: Connect wiring systems and equipment using safe
________and approved methods.
Unit 308: inspect, test & commission an electrical installation.
THE RANGES TO BE MET ARE:
Working Conditions: Interior and exterior work.
Access Equipment: 2 different types.
Relevant Persons: 2 different types.
Safe systems of work: 2 different types.
Fault on electrotechnical system: 3 different types.
Electrotechnical system: 3 different types.
Wiring enclosures: 3 different types.
Information: Technical and Functional.
Working environment: 2 different types.
Testing: All tests.
